Steamed fish is an Asian approach to low fat cooking. This dish is made with a spicy sauce poured over ginger and cilantro stuffed steamed fish.
Stuff the cavity of the fish with ginger and cilantro (reserving some for garnish) and rub the fish with salt.
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients under sauce and toss well.
Add 2 cups of water to the base of a steamer and bring to a boil.
In the meantime, transfer the fish onto a plate and brush it with oil to avoid it from sticking.
Now, add ¼ of the sauce to the water and place the fish into the steamer.
Cover and steam for 20 mins until the fish is completely cooked.
Take out and drain any excess water. Transfer the fish on a serving platter.
Pour the sauce over the fish and let it sit for 5 mins to soak all the flavours.
Garnish with reserved ginger and cilantro. Serve immediately.
