A delicious English appetizer recipe. Sausage Cheese Puffs are made with puff pastry, chicken sausages and cheese slice. It is super simple to make and is perfect for a bite-sized snack.
Preheat the oven to 150°C for 20 minutes.
Dust a working surface with flour and place the puff pastry on top of the dusted surface. Dust a little flour on the puff pastry and roll into a flat square such that 4 squares can be cut out from the flattened dough.
Once the dough is rolled, cut out 4 equal squares and place 1 cheese slice on top per square followed by the sausages.
Now roll the puffs tightly and cut into desired size or 1 ½ inch pieces and transfer to a baking tray.
In a small bowl, add egg and whisk with a fork. Brush the egg on top of the puffs and bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, until golden brown and cooked.
Once cooked, remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm with mustard and ketchup.
