A delicious Potato Puffs recipe. Potato Puffs or better known as aloo patty are made with puff pastry, potato, onion, garlic and a few spices. It has a crispy texture and tastes best when eaten hot.
A delicious Potato Puffs recipe. Potato Puffs or better known as aloo patty are made with puff pastry, potato, onion, garlic and a few spices. It has a crispy texture and tastes best when eaten hot.
In a bowl, add potatoes, mash lightly and keep aside.
In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and add onion. Cook for 4-5 minutes and add the garlic. Cook for 2-3 more minutes and add the mashed potatoes. Mix well.
Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and coriander powder. Give it a nice stir and cook for 5-7 minutes. Make sure to stir in between. Remove from heat and keep aside to cool.
Next, dust a little flour on a working surface, place the puff pastry on the dusted surface and roll into a flat square. Dust flour on top of the dough if required.
Preheat the oven to 180°C for 20 minutes.
Cut the flattened dough into 9 pieces, spoon the reserved potato mix onto the pieces, brush a little water on the edges of the dough and fold in half. Press the edges down to make a tight seal.
Brush the puffs lightly with oil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Once cooked, remove from heat and serve with sauce of your choice.
