A delicious Korean appetizer recipe. Hot bar is a sausage coated with thick batter and fried potato strips. It is deep fried and tastes best with mustard and ketchup.
Slice the potato into thin strips and keep aside until use.
In a bowl, combine plain flour, sugar, cornmeal and salt. Add milk and egg. Mix well to form a thick batter and keep aside.
Heat oil for frying in a wok on medium-high heat and fry the potato strips, until golden. Remove and drain on a paper towel and set it aside.
Next, dip the sausages into the batter and then glue as many fried potato strips as possible on them. Drop this back in the hot oil and fry until the fries start to brown.
Once cooked, remove from oil, insert a stick in the middle and serve hot.
